Snow Silk : Luscious Color on Silk Scarves

Boston, Massachusetts

Announcement    Why snowsilk? My early explorations with dye involved using snow to put color on silk. I snow dye by laying prepared fabric at the bottom of a big lobster pot. I then add several inches of snow and pour professional quality dyes over the snow. As the snow melts and the dye seeps down, fabulously unique patterns appear on the scarves. In my store you will find colorful snow-dyed scarves made from the most glorious and luxurious silks. You will also find Japanese Shibori dyed scarves, two-toned burnout scarves and colorful mandalas.
